Men's Sunglasses and Ibanez Guitars for Christmas

My husband's Christmas gifts are done. His gifts were two Ibanez guitars. He had an Ibanez Prestige but he changed his mind about it so back it went to the store and two came home "from Santa" in its place. He already knows about those obviously since he has to play them first so I'm trying to find a gift he doesn't know about.

Men's Sunglasses would be a great gift for him. When we met, he had a sunglasses addiction and only the best frames would do. There was a girl who worked for one of the high-end sunglass companies who got him frames at her cost in the hopes he'd ask her out. He's had to settle for less now that there are several kids in the financial equation now but it'd be a nice surprise for him.

Off Topic but Important: Your Prostate

I know this is off-topic since this is a blog about "stuff" for men but this is important. A lot of men don't want to be bothered doing it (or are too embarrassed to) but it is important because early detection makes a big difference.

The American Cancer Society recommends prostate exams start at age 50 unless you are in a higher risk group. Some doctors recommend a baseline screening at age 40. Some doctors recommend age 45. Individual insurance companies have their recommendations. I know ours is at age 40. Prevention or early detection is the key.

Just do it and get it over with. If women have to go through annual exams that are just as embarrassing and then all those many exams during pregnancy and childbirth, it's not going to kill you to get it done (and it may kill you if you don't). I know most men don't want to be bothered with a doctor but do you think women do? I cringe every time I have to make an appointment for anything. I could do without exams, needles, lectures, or seeing another lab coat for years at this point, but it's important.

Polarized Sunglasses: Great Christmas Gift Idea

Now these are just too cool! Aren't these nice looking? They are Polarized Sunglasses designed to catch the light waves that occur from glare. How many times has the glare from the water or snow caused you to squint to reduce the amount of glare entering your eye?

I have a particularly hard time in the winter months while driving. The glare from the snow actually hurts and makes my eyes tear up. Sunglasses in the winter months is a must for me.

A pair of polarized sunglasses would make a great christmas gift and stocking stuffer this year!

Comfortable Artcarved Wedding Bands

I came across these wedding bands that are very unique...not something everybody else around you is wearing. They're called artcarved wedding bands. You can find them with matching bands for both of you AND with comfort fit so they're comfortable to wear.

That is one thing that my husband has always complained about - his ring just isn't comfortable to wear. We bought it from a chain jewelry store and it doesn't have the comfort fit band. It's usually sitting in his drawer now. He said he wants a new one with a more comfortable band. Maybe for the 15th anniversary.

Mens Jewelry: Great Gift for a Man & Their Woman

When I met my husband he was the lead guitar player and some vocals in one of the most popular cover bands in the area where we lived. He had many of the women in the crowds hoping. Boy did they hate me when I came along! It was an "at first sight" thing with us so they didn't have a chance (even when they threatened to kick my you know what to try to get to him).

After getting married, it became too hard to keep up the band with work and family obligations so he dropped the band. He still writes music but the days of playing out in the bars every weekend are long gone. After a couple years, he also dropped the ear rings too. I LOVED the ear rings! I think a man who wears mens jewelry tastefully can pull it off with no problem.

So guys, clean up your fingernails, put on some clean clothes (that aren't wrinkled), slip on a piece of tasteful jewelry, and do something nice for and with your woman.

THE Fender Guitar

My husband just picked up a Fender electric guitar. Being the girly girl that I am, I can't tell you what model it is just yet. I just know what it cost (twice as much as my SUV payment). Seeing how he'd sold three of his guitars to make our house payment last month, I couldn't say no to him!

Eh, who am I kidding? I rarely say "no" to him anyway. This is his "big boy toy".

Top 10 Grooming Mistakes Men Make

We've all been around men who have done some of these things. Now askmen.com has given us a list to look at of the Top 10 Grooming Mistakes Men Make. Some of them are: using too much cologne (definitely!), having dirty nails (eww), ignoring nose and ear hair (another eww), having straggly, messy facial hair (we don't want Bigfoot or to be seen with somebody who looks like a mug shot), and not taking care of body hair (please take care of the back hair!). There are others but I thought these were the most important.
